How is this different from enterprise search?
Search returns documents and ranks them. You still have to read them and work out what they meant. Brayn builds a connected map of what those documents established: the people, services, decisions, facts and procedures, and how they relate. It keeps every claim traceable to its sources and hands the relevant part to whoever asks, a person or an AI tool.
How is this different from RAG, or a vector database?
RAG retrieves chunks that look similar to your question, every time, from scratch. Brayn resolves the same thing mentioned in five places into one node, tracks when it changed and what replaced it, and only trusts what turned up in independent sources. That is a map, not a search box. We publish both arms of our own eval so you can judge for yourself. The RAG arm is in the numbers above.
Do you train models on my data?
No. Your data is processed solely to provide the service to you, under a published data-processing agreement. You can also bring your own model key or run the zero-retention tier, so your provider agreement governs.
What if the extraction is wrong?
Nothing ships without its sources, so every claim can be walked back to where it came from. Anything uncertain waits in a review queue for a person. Confidence is earned only when the same thing turns up in independent sources. When the evidence isn't there, the answer is "I don't have that", not a guess.
Can I get my knowledge out?
Always. The whole map exports as linked markdown, procedures export as portable files, and the Obsidian plugin mirrors everything into a vault you own. Deleting is just as real: it removes, it doesn't hide.
